At this time we cannot offer our mobility impaired guests total access in our home as we would wish. The Albynes is of historical interest as well as being a well
maintained period property and we are limited as to the changes that we can make without being detrimental to the appearance of the property.
We have had an access audit performed by Heart of England Tourist board.
The following information may help in assessing your decision to stay with us.

On arrival we are happy to give you a conducted tour of the house, pointing out possible hazards.
Mobile phones do work in the house but the signal can be patchy.
Menus can be provided in large print if required.
We have a procedure in place to rouse any guest with impaired hearing in the event of a fire alarm sounding.
Ground Floor & Public areas
- Set in rural location approx 4 miles from nearest town (Bridgnorth)
- Parking is provided at the front of the house. The surface of the car park is level and covered with gravel.
- Access to the house is up two stone steps. First step is 6cm high x 17.5cm deep, second is 18cm high leading into a porch area with door mat.
- The 2 doorways into the house are both 65cm wide but are double doors and both sides can be opened to allow uninterrupted access of 130cm width.
- Through the second door there is a metal lip approx 2cm high, this is integral to the door frame.
- Both doors have knobs 67cm & 77cm respectively. There is a bell pull sited by the inner doorway at a height of 106cm.
- Once inside the house the floor in the entrance hall is tiled and covered by a very large rug. The ground floor is all on one level with no further steps.
- The doorways on the ground floor are all 88cm wide.
- There are no public toilets on the ground floor.
- The breakfast room is spacious and fully carpeted. It has a choice of two tables 72 cm and 76cm high. There is a choice of chairs – with or without arms; both are of a sturdy wooden construction and 46cm seat height.
- The sideboard which is used for buffet items such as cereals and fruit juices is 96cm high but waitress service would be available for these items.
- The TV lounge is spacious and fully carpeted, it contains a 4 seater sofa and 2 arm chairs all with a seat height of 40cm. It has a coffee table of 48cm height and a further dining table (74cm) and 4 chairs (44cm seat height). There is a remote control television (at present this does not have teletext.)
- The stairwell is wooden and curved and comprises of 23 stairs each 17cm high x 18cm at narrowest/30cm at widest points. They are wooden and have a carpeted runner up the centre 70cm wide. The top stair is larger, of an odd shape and intersects the landing.
- The stairs have a wooden banister to the right and a rope handrail to the left, the actual stairwell is 105cm wide and opens onto a galleried landing.
- The upstairs landing is fully carpeted and lit with both a 3 bulb ceiling light and a standard lamp with 100 watt energy saving bulb.
Bedrooms
All Bedrooms are centrally heated, have remote control colour televisions
(at present these do not have teletext) and digital alarm clocks.
They all have bedside table with lamps on each side of the bed, dressing table/stool and tea/coffee making facilities.
All beds have duvets and synthetic pillows, additional pillows are bagged in the wardrobes for guests use. Beds can be made up with sheets and blankets if preferred.
Bathrooms
All bathrooms have baths with showers over and glass shower screens.
Non slip bath mats are provided and all rooms are fully carpeted.
Blue Bedroom
· Spacious bedroom containing King size bed with medium/soft mattress 55cm high
· 2 arm chairs 37cm high
· Access to bathroom from bedroom, no change in floor level
· Wash basin is located in vanity units and is 88cm high
· WC seat height is 43cm high
· Bath is on a 19cm high plinth and overall height of bath/plinth is 60cm.
· Shower dial has lever mechanism and is 100cm high.
Green Bedroom
· Large Bedroom containing beds that can be zipped & linked together offering the flexibility of use as a twin or double (super king) room. Bed height is 60cm and mattresses are medium/firm.
· Cordless kettle is available on tea tray
· 3 chairs of differing heights and a chaise lounge
· Spare pillows are situated in divan drawers
· Access to large private bathroom is via a separate door which opens to block off the corridor and allow additional privacy. Bathroom door has knob and privacy lock 80cm high.
· Pedestal basin is 82cm high
· Bath height 55cm, shower dial height 137cm
Courtyard Bedroom
· Bedroom with iron double bedstead and medium mattress 76cm height
· 2 small arm chairs 39cm high
· shower dial height of 115cm
· WC height 40cm and wash basin 86cm high
