The Albynes is approached through beautiful parkland, with sheep grazing on either side of the drive. Guests then drive over the tiny bridge between the duck ponds, round the sweeping
gravel driveway and arrive at the house. There are stunning views across open countryside from every window and the house is peacefully situated in large informal gardens.
Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, The Black Country, Wolverhampton and Telford are all within easy driving distance.
We are ideally placed for visiting the National Trust Properties of Dudmaston Hall, Attingham Park, Stokesay Castle and Wightwick.
We are only 4 miles from the Severn Valley
The Albynes is an ideal base for Business travellers and we would be pleased to discuss long term rates.
The house dates back to 1824 when it was built for the Burger of Bridgnorth. He named it after his favourite son Albinius, hence the unusual name.
The house retains many of its original features such as the Tudor panelled dining room and curved wooden staircase. The rest of the house is full of character with twisting steps, alcoves and passage ways.
Guests are invited to use the Drawing Room, with its views down to the duck ponds. In summer the room is a real sun trap and in winter the large wood burning stove provides a warm retreat.
Breakfasts are served in the magnificent Tudor panelled dining room using the best locally sourced ingredients. We are unable to offer evening meals but have a local Country pub less than a mile away.
Today the Albynes is a working farm with over 600 acres of arable, pasture and woodland and over fifteen hundred breeding sheep.
We are inspected and graded by the AA and have a five star rating
